You may already be aware of the fact that I have become a true LinkedIn evangelist. I absolutely believe that everyone needs a fully optimized and complete LinkedIn profile. In fact, I just wrote a blog post about. Click here to take a look. The title of the blog post is the same as today's newsletter: "Do You Need LinkedIn? Yes...Yes, You Do, and Here is Why."

If you aren't convinced yet, I would invite you to join me for a free, live webinar that I will be conducting next Thursday evening, June 23 at 7:00 EDT. To register, click here:  https://app.webinarjam.net/register/11680/4cf0bbf9a9.

As I said in the video for today, the facts around why you need a LinkedIn profile are clear. Currently, over 143 million people currently have a profile (although many of them are not fully optimized yet); 2 new members sign up every second; and LinkedIn is used in 200 countries and in 20 languages.

It is also true that 94% of recruiters are looking for talent on LinkedIn, and they aren't just looking at people who are actively job hunting. In fact, many people are called by recruiters who are offering them opportunities they wouldn't know about otherwise.

My contention is that unless you live under a rock or want to live in a cave for the foreseeable future, it would be to your benefit to use LinkedIn and set yourself up for being recruited by someone who may have an opportunity for YOU.

Now, if you really aren't interested in being offered future opportunities that could lead to a great new job that would pay you more and take advantage of your talents, gifts, and skills, then you are right...you don't need LinkedIn.

But I am going to venture to guess that you really are open to possibilities...you just don't know how to make that happen.

Well, LinkedIn is a first step.

I won't kid, you, however...LinkedIn isn't particularly user-friendly, nor it is completely intuitive. You may need a guide to help you figure out how to make the most of the features LinkedIn offers. That is where I come in. I have recently launched a product designed to help you work your way through the LinkedIn profile set up phase using a visual graphic. See the first of four pages below:

LinkedIn Infographic

I had my graphic designer create this beautiful Infographic in order to help my clients figure out how to create a fully optimized LinkedIn profile. I believe it is worth at least $19, but currently, I am only charging $9.

I have had a lot of people who have shown an interest in this product, but so far only one has actually bought it and I am concerned that people are getting deterred by the landing page between the offer and the PayPal transaction page where you put in your credit card information. I am afraid it might scare you off when you are confronted with this message under the description of the product which is Step 1:

Step 2.

I fear that it looks intimidating, right? You don't want to be a new "client." You just want the Infographic. But you play it safe and get out of there, fast.

Now, I don't know for sure that that is what is happening, but given that over 160 people have clicked on the link to buy since I launched the product on Thursday and only one person has followed through, I have my suspicions.

While I get that problem worked on or find a new shopping cart company, what I want you to do is buy it anyway if you are interested in having the Infographic. You are already on my email list, so you aren't signing up for some big, expensive program...you are just buying a $9 Infographic that will help you get your LinkedIn profile set up the right way.

So, I want you to do three things today.

  1. Read my blog post about why I believe you need a LinkedIn profile.
  2. Register for the webinar that I will be conducting next Thursday (June 23) at 7:00 p.m. EDT, and
  3. Buy my beautiful new LinkedIn Infographic.
Your next steps, then, will be to set aside some time to actually work on your LinkedIn profile.

Depending on how much you already have, it may take a couple of hours, so set aside a time that will allow you to concentrate on it. Start with a professional photo and don't forget to customize your LinkedIn URL.

Let me know if you have any questions. I am here to help if you need me.

Until next time.
