Job burnout is definitely on the rise. Regardless of your job or profession, I believe this is true across just about every profession or occupation. I know it is true of teachers. Here is a link to an article I just saw yesterday and posted on my Facebook page: "Teaching is Among the 'Top Three Most Stressed Occupations."

I am going to be writing an article this week for Careerealism.com about the importance of being able to say "no" when your plate is already full at work.

I know it is hard to say "no," and for some of us, it is harder than for others. Depending upon your age and gender, you may find it impossible to break the "people pleaser" habit that you have developed and refined over the course of your life. You continue this habit, however, at the risk of your own health and overall sense of well-being.

I am attaching some assessments that I think you might find of value if you are experiencing the symptoms--or you think you might be experiencing the symptoms of job burnout.

I am offering two different documents for you to consider downloading. The first is an assessment of job burnout if you are a teacher. Here is the link to the assessment of job burnout among those who are teachers or who work in some capacity in K-12 or higher education.

The second link is an assessment of job burnout for those who are not teachers but work in other environments such as a corporate office, a retail company or store or some other non-education-related field. For that assessment, click here.

Regardless of your job, occupation or professional endeavor, if you are suffering from any of the symptoms of job burnout, it may be time to assess how to address it. Your health may be at stake if you don't.

Striving for work-life balance is a challenge, but it is particularly important for you to strive toward if you are going to enjoy your life the way it was intended for you to enjoy.

Take care of yourself. And if you need help establishing appropriate boundaries and learning to say "no" effectively without angst, let me know. That is something we might work on together.

Until next time.

This book explains the negative health implications of not understanding and dealing with the stress in your life. It offers practical, affordable, common sense strategies for taking better care of yourself and it offers advice on creating work-life balance which eludes most of us too much of the time.

To access your FREE copy of the book, just click on the graphic below for the download. Please feel free to share as you see fit. As I said, I just want the information to get to the people who need it.
